Abstract. This study explores the under-researched experiences of first-time fathers who take on the role of primary caregiver during the postpartum period—an area often overshadowed by maternal perspectives. The aim was to understand the challenges these fathers face, how they adapt emotionally, and the support systems they rely on. Using snowball sampling, the study gathered insights from 6 first-time fathers. Thematic analysis revealed three key findings: (1) Navigating Challenges and Adjustments in Fatherhood, (2) Emotional Growth and Strengthening Family Bonds, and (3) Importance of Support Systems and Coping Strategies. Participants reported difficulties balancing work and caregiving, experiencing emotional stress, and undergoing identity shifts. However, these challenges also increased resilience, confidence, and deeper connections with their children and partners. Support from family, healthcare professionals, and online communities played a critical role in their adjustment. This study highlights the need for more inclusive parenting programs and targeted mental health resources for fathers, contributing to a more holistic approach to postpartum care.
