For Conference Organizers
Conference Partnership Guidelines
For Conference Organizers
The Journal of Interdisciplinary Perspectives (JIP) regularly receives requests from conference organizers who want to publish selected papers from their events. To keep the process fair, transparent, and consistent with our peer-review standards, JIP has adopted the following guidelines.
Partnership Policies
- Eligible organizers. JIP accepts partnership requests only from higher education institutions, research institutes, and recognized professional or academic associations. The editors vet every organizer to guard against predatory or low-quality conferences.
- No guaranteed acceptance. A partnership with JIP does not guarantee publication of any manuscript, even if the conference committee has already reviewed it. Every manuscript undergoes JIP's own double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers. An editorial decision typically takes 4–8 weeks. JIP does not offer fast-track review for conference papers.
- Scope fit. Although JIP welcomes work from many disciplines, conference papers must meet the journal's criteria of significance and scientific relevance and must follow JIP's author guidelines.
- Conference promotion. JIP does not advertise conferences on its website. Organizers may promote their event and call for papers on their own platforms using this statement: "Selected papers will be considered for publication in the Journal of Interdisciplinary Perspectives (JIP), subject to the journal's peer review." Organizers may not use JIP's name or logo in any way that implies guaranteed publication.
- No prior full-text publication. JIP does not accept papers already published in full-text conference proceedings, as this constitutes duplicate publication. Abstracts published in an abstract book are not considered prior publication.
- Special issue. Conference papers accepted through regular peer review will be published in a special issue dedicated to the partner conference.
- Letter of Acceptance. JIP issues a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) only after the editors have formally accepted a manuscript. No LOA is issued before submission or during review.
- Publication fees. Conference papers are subject to the same Article Processing Charge as regular submissions.
