Journal History

The Journal of Interdisciplinary Perspectives (JIP) was launched in September 2023 by TWR Book Publishing Services. It was founded to give scholars a venue for research that crosses disciplinary lines. Many pressing questions in education, technology, society, and the environment cannot be answered adequately from within a single field. JIP was created to publish work that combines the concepts, theories, and methods of different disciplines to address them.

From its first issue, JIP has been a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published monthly in both print and online formats. The journal adopted a transparent, sustainable publishing model from the outset, with a single, clearly stated article processing charge and no additional fees.

In its early years, the journal focused on building a publishing infrastructure that would make its content visible, stable, and credible. All articles are registered with Crossref and assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs). The journal has since been indexed in Google Scholar, Scilit, and Philippine E-Journals (PEJ), listed in the Directory of Open Access Scholarly Resources (ROAD), and indexed by the Bielefeld Academic Search Engine (BASE). 

As the journal grew, TWR Book Publishing Services moved its registered office from Tisa, Cebu City, to Tamiao, Compostela, Cebu. In 2026, the journal introduced a new editorial team to support its expanding submissions and broaden its disciplinary coverage. Over the same period, JIP formalized its commitment to research that addresses local, national, and global concerns, including studies that contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
